Religious Observance Dates 2014

The following set includes a guide to religious holy days of certain religions: Aboriginal Peoples', Bahá'í, Buddhist, Christianity, Hindu, Islam, Jain, Jewish, Shinto, Sikh, Wicca and Zoroastrian. The guide has been compiled from many sources including the Multicultural Calendar 2014 (Creative Cultural Communications). The guide is provided for reference purposes and not intended to be, nor should be relied upon as an authority on holy days.

Please note that all of the dates of Islamic observance are tentative because they are based on the local first sightings of the lunar crescent of the new moon.

University event planners and faculty members are encouraged to take these days into consideration when scheduling events.

The policy associated with these dates can be found in the York Courses Web site. For information on Statutory Dates, click here.
