On July 1, 2009, York University launched the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS), combining the strengths of the Atkinson Faculty of Liberal & Professional Studies and the Faculty of Arts.

All Arts and Atkinson programs, except Applied Mathematics, Computer Science (BA and iBA), Computer Security, Mathematics, Mathematics for Commerce and Statistics, were switched automatically by the University to LA&PS.

Applied Mathematics, Computer Science (BA and iBA), Computer Security, Mathematics, Mathematics for Commerce and Statistics were switched automatically by the University to the Faculty of Science & Engineering (FSE).

Students admitted to York University for September 2009 or later are not affected.
